I wanted to explore the use of moss further in my work and so I took some more images of moss taking over stairs to show how nature is taking over something very man-made. For these images I wanted to explore and integrate the use of humans in my work to further combine the style of Melissa Lund's work with my own.
Instead of photographing the whole body I wanted to use just the feet so as not to draw the attention away from the step.
For this image I wanted to include the whole set of stairs whilst still making them look interesting and unique and so I used a side angle when photographing them to create interesting shapes within the stairs.
In these photos I wanted to explore and intergrate nature as well as people in my work.
Modern Stairs
To contrast with my images of nature taking over stairs, I took some photographs of stairs that are very man-made in it's look, and are made of materials such as metal, plastic and glass. These have been photographed indoors whereas all of my previous locations have been outdoors. I decided to use the indoors to create a stronger contrast between the manicured stairs and the stairs that have had nature take over.
