Development 3

I decided to take some more images of stairs that nature has taken over for my project. I want to find and photograph as many stairs with nature on them as possible to explore my project idea as far as i can.

For this image I thought it was interesting how the moss and the grass that had formed on the stairs and how the nature has actually brought some colouring and brightness to the otherwise dark and drab stairs. I also liked how the moss had formed a pattern on the step.

I decided to take a picture of this step because it is very relevant to my project. Grass, weeds and roots have taken over a man-made step and is very prominent in the image. I like how the step is hidden by the grass because it really shows how the nature is in control and can even take over something as man-made as a step. I like how there is a variety of greens and orangy reds in the grass make a nice contrast between the nature and the grey step.

For these two images, I thought it was interesting to show how nature is even starting to form stairs, which are all man-made. Even though the outline of the forming stairs aren't prominent in the picture, the tree barks and roots are starting to merge together to form something that is commonly man-made. As the image was taken on the floor and it is tree barks and roots that are mainly prominent in the image, there isn't a variety of colours in the image which would have made it look more interesting however there are a few red tones in the image that make it stant out a bit more.

This image was taken of church steps, In this image, nature has only just stared to take over the step but overtime if left, the weeds will take over the whole set of stairs.

In this image it isn't weeds that have taken over stairs but moss. I like how the moss is slowly creeping up the stairs and is clearly taking over the step slowly and with time.

For these images, I went walking around Nottingham looking for any kind of stairs that had nature on them. I wanted to explore what kinds of nature there are that takes over the stairs and how far some of the nature goes. For all of these images I used an ISO of 100, my aperture was f5.6 and my exposure time/shutter speed ws 1/125. The settings are all the same for all of these images because they were all taken on the same day around the same time and so the conditions didn't change drastically.
