Henk Van Rensbergen
Henk Van Rensbergen is a photographer as well as an airline pilot who is currently flying as captain of the Boeing 767. In his work, Henk explores the empty buildings of our time, a place that mankind has left behind and dissapeared from. Henk wants to show the silent beauty within his images and reveal the secrets left behind in the places that he photographs. Some of his photos were taken at locations visited during his flights, however the majority of his photos were taken from planned photo shoots.
Henk Van Rensbergens work would also fit in with my chosen theme because he also photographs staircases in abandoned buildings. Henk captures a sense of abandonment in his work which is what I want to do in my images.

Analysis
This photograph is of a set of stairs in an abandoned house. The peeling wallpaper and the crumbling stairs add a lot of texture to the image creating more depth and feeling within the image. By making the image black and white a story of lonliness and abandonment is being told within the image.
I will not be carrying on with this photographer and I will not be using his style of work in my development work as the idea for my project has slightly changed. When I tried to respond to Henk Van Rensbergen's work I couldn't access any derelict or abandoned houses due to the risk of falling debris. Therefore I couldn't respond to any of my photographers work which would be a problem later on in my project as I wouldn't be able to show the connection between my chosen photographers work and my work.
